Why March Is the Best Time to Buy an RV Warranty

March is a slow month for extended RV warranties. Snowbirds are settled, summer travel hasn't started, and providers are hungry for business — which means better pricing and promotions.

Seasonal Demand Shapes Pricing

The RV warranty industry follows predictable seasonal patterns. Peak buying happens in spring when owners prep for summer travel and in fall when snowbirds head south. During these windows, sales teams are busy and less likely to offer deep discounts.

March sits in a quiet window. Summer trip planning hasn't fully kicked in, and many full-time travelers already purchased coverage in January or February. Warranty companies compete harder for each lead, which translates to better quotes, waived fees, and promotional deductibles.

What Our Secret Shoppers Found

In March 2026, our secret shoppers requesting quotes on a 2018 Class C motorhome received offers averaging 10–18% below identical requests made in June 2025. Several providers offered limited-time deductibles of $100 instead of $200, and America's RV Warranty ran a promotional credit on first-year premiums.

Promotions change, but the seasonal pattern holds: slow months produce better negotiating leverage. Call multiple providers in the same week and mention you're comparing quotes — March is when they're most willing to compete.

Other Good Times to Buy

If you miss March, late September and early October can offer similar dynamics as summer travel winds down. Avoid buying under pressure at the dealership during your RV purchase unless you've already compared direct quotes.

The best time is always when you've done your homework: sample contract in hand, three quotes compared, and a clear understanding of what your plan covers and excludes.
